Korea - April 21 to May 4

I visited my family in Korea for two weeks, and I grew older in those two weeks. Within those two weeks, I gained a much larger understanding of my family and my place within it. I got to know my grandma and grandpa not just as their role of a grandma and grandpa to me, their granddaughter, but as people with pasts, unfulfilled hopes and dreams, and small stories within the big scheme of history. I come back to America grieving and older as I see the reality of death and how little time and opportunity we get in life to spend it with those we love. And Time will never stop for you, it will always carry on.

Below is a picture of an exhibit of an art museum I went to. I was mesmerized by the lines and how they carried on and flowed across the room, endless. I thought it related so much to my project, the intertwining of the stories I seek to portray and the beauty of when we step back and look at the bigger picture rather than getting sucked into our own little lives.
